Rwenzori Trekking Services now has the rights to the Kilembe Trail, which is situated at the bottom of the Rwenzori Mountains National Park. It’s become known as the “Southern Circuit” and has only recently been opened to tourists due to the concession granted to Rwenzori Trekking Services and the construction of new huts.

Rwenzori Trekking Services and Rwenzori Expeditions team up to offer trekking tours to the Rwenzori Mountains. In 2009, they created the Kilembe Trail as an alternate route to the traditional central circuit. The southern circuit is a tough one, taking an extra few days to summit Magheritah Peak with amazing views of valleys, trees and more.

The shortest trek is 7 days, beginning at the Rangers Post and going to Sine Camp, Mutinda Hut, Kalalama Hut, Bugata Camp, Butawu, and then Magheritah Peak. After that, you descend back to Butawu Hut, Bugata, Kiharo Camp and the base. Rwenzori Trekking Services are the best camping options in the Rwenzori Mountains National Park.
