Your 3 days Bwindi gorilla tracking Uganda safari is your leisure excursion to Uganda’s legendary Bwindi Impenetrable National Park situated in the South-western region, on the edge of the western arm of the great East African Rift Valley.
This 3 days gorilla tracking Uganda safari is your opportunity to encounter one of Uganda’s oldest rainforests – the eminent Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, dating back to over 25,000 years of existence. The forest’s dense greenery spread across the park’s mist-covered hillsides is a home to an estimate 400 mountain gorillas, which is more than half of the world’s population of these endangered species.
Your 3 days Bwindi gorilla tracking Uganda safari starts with an English-speaking driver who doubles as your guide picking you from a suitable location within Kampala. You will then embark on your gorilla trekking Uganda excursion – your memorable safari expedition spent in the primitive African wild.
Your first stop will be at the equator in Kayabwe, about 72km from Kampala city. While at the equator, you will have a chance to see the imaginary line that divides the world into two equal halves. You will then arrive at Buhoma, one of the four main gorilla trekking regions in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, in the early evening.
The second day of your Bwindi gorilla tracking Uganda safari starts with a very early breakfast before you head out to the park headquarters at around 7:00am. You will be briefed about the ‘dos’ and ‘don’ts’ while on a gorilla trekking excursion.
You will then hit the trails with a team of professional guides and trackers. A typical gorilla trekking excursion lasts between 2 – 8 hours. Hiking through the beaten trails in search of the potent giants is exerting but greatly rewarding.
Once you encounter a gorilla family, you will spend an hour observing its members; how the domineering male silverback (head of the family) displays his authority and ability. Besides the males, you will also see the caring mothers tending to their little ones; feeding some, rubbing a few, carrying others and keeping a watchful eye on those playing in the trees. You will be allowed to take photos of the experience.
You depart from the park and head to Kampala, your guide will drop you at any place of your choice. If you have a flight to catch, your guide will drop you at Entebbe Airport on time.
